Payroll Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in processing payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain and update payroll records, including employee information, pay rates, and deductions.
  • Calculate and enter payroll data, including hours worked, overtime, and bonuses.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll checks or direct deposit payments.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, resolving issues promptly and accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
  • Assist in preparing payroll reports and summaries for management.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all payroll and employee information.
  • Assist with year-end processes, including W-2 preparation and distribution.
  • Support the HR department with other administrative tasks as needed.


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in payroll processing or a similar administrative role.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.
  • Proficiency in using payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
